Introduction

Welcome to Off The Shelf, software designed to simplify your manufacturing tasks. Off The Shelf provides you with the tools to manage Parts, Products, Vendors and Customers. This manual will introduce you to the different ways Off The Shelf can help your company manage, build and grow.

Off The Shelf will tell you:

  • What Parts you have on hand

  • How many Products you need to Build

  • How many you can Build

  • What you need to Purchase

  • How long it will take to fulfill Sales Orders

Account Set up & Billing

Start your free, 30-day trial by joining us at offtheshelf.app. Simply sign up with your company name, first name and email, and you’ll receive an emailed verification link. Follow the prompts to create a password.

Enjoy full functionality through your trial period. To check the expiration date of your subscription, click on your name in the upper right hand corner, selecting Admin Tools, then Subscription and Billing at the bottom of the page. From here, you can also sign up for a paid subscription. If you choose to sign up, click “Subscribe for $100/month”.

You will be redirected to our payment processing site, where you will be prompted to enter your email and credit card information. Once the payment has processed, you will be emailed a receipt to the email that was provided.

Once you have a paid subscription, use this same tool to view/download your most recent invoice, update billing method, or cancel your subscription.

Dashboard

The Off The Shelf dashboard welcomes you with an overview of Sales Orders, Purchase Orders and in-stock Parts. These categories give you and your employees quick access to daily tasks, whether it’s shipping out Products on Sales Orders, receiving Purchase Orders or Building Products.

The Menu bar, top, provides navigation to all of Off The Shelf’s features and is accessible throughout the software.

Off The Shelf

  • Click this logo to be returned to the dashboard view.

Build

  • Parts are purchased from Vendors, to Build Products. Navigate to this page to see the full list of your Parts, both in stock and previously used.

  • Products are sold to Customers. Navigate here to see the full list of Products you sell, as well as their stock and sales levels.

  • Built Products are serialized instances of a Product, and are completed, ready for sale.

  • Production Matrix presents all Products on a chart with open Sales Orders, so you can plan production runs.

  • Production Timeline displays all Sales Orders due to ship in the upcoming 4 weeks, so you can keep an eye on items that need immediate attention, and plan for busy ship dates.

Sell

  • Customers are displayed in a searchable list.

  • Sales Orders are received from Customers to purchase Products. Navigate here to view open orders, add new and see completed sales.

Buy

  • Vendors are displayed in a searchable list.

  • Purchase Orders are issued to Vendors to buy Parts. Navigate here to view open Purchase Orders, create new and view received Purchase Orders.

Reports

  • Reports offer you a series of ways to organize and retrieve data on Parts, Products and Time.

User

  • Sign Out of your account.

  • My Profile lets you manage your open and previous Tasks or change your password.

  • Company Addresses displays your company’s billing and shipping addresses. Any User can add or Edit these.

  • Pricing Config allows admins to set Labor Cost, Price and Material Margins. Any User can view these settings, but not add or edit.

  • Admin Tools offers options to Manage User Accounts, Change Company Logo and Manage Subscriptions.

Where to Get Started?

While you can dive in anywhere, we recommend the following:

  • Set up User Accounts for any team members.

  • Add your default billing and shipping addresses in “Company Addresses”.

  • Create and detail entries for all of your frequently used Vendors.

  • Add and detail entries for your most ordered Parts, link them to your newly created Vendors, and if necessary, modify stock levels to match what you’ve got on the shelf already.

  • Create Products and Subproducts.

  • Place Sales Orders as they come in, and Generate PO’s as you need supplies.

  • Build your products and ship them!
